Mac a Doos Pub----------Roberts Rd and Walcutt

Good old Mac a Doos....

Libby and I discovered Mac's a couple months ago thanks to some friend of Libs. We all went to see Jim Gaffigan downtown and after the show we were STARVING!!! I know surprise surprise lol. Libbys friends just happen to live by us, so we wanted to go someplace close with cold beer and some decent grub. They suggested Mac a Doos pub. Once they said, "They got cold beer and good pizza!" Libby and I were really excited and speeding to get there!. Mac's is not a huge place, probably seating for about 75. Surprisingly, for a Saturday night we were able to get a table. We ordered a couple buckets of beer and a large half pep and half cheese pizza. We were thinking that all four of us were eating when we ordered but it ended up just being Libby and I because her friends weren't hungry. Bonus for us. The pizza came out, it looked amazing. The cheese was just browned, pepperoni's curled and the crust was crisped to perfection. The sauce has just enough a zing to let you know its there, but not overpowering. The put a nice little mix of spice on top for added flavor. Libby and I destroyed the whole pizza. Matter of fact, if there would have been two, I'm thinking we would have ate that one as well!

Since that night, February, we have ate a Mac's prob 10 times at least. We had burnt crust 1 time, but it was still edible. All in all, it probably one of the best pizza's I've ever had.

Large 1 topping = $13.00

4.5 out 5 stars

Pros: Price/taste/location/cold beer/drive thru
Cons: .......burnt crust once......

Kudos to the owners/Chef of Mac a Doos Pub. This customer will be back!

  1. Jeramy,
Love the blog site! I can't think of anyone more qualified to give advice on local cuisine. We went to Mac-A-Doos today for lunch. It was the best pizza I have had in quite some time. Jonah even ate 3 pieces!!!! That's a lot for him. It wasn't kid-friendly (no high-chairs or boosters) but what do you expect from a pub? Our waitress was really friendly and even changed one of the televisions to a cartoon. I am sure the other patrons were not impressed, but we were. Thanks for letting us know that there was such a great pizza place, right around the corner! Keep blogging!-Rachel
